Universal truth?

I'm 26 this year. Let just say, I've seen the world enough to notice this one similar thing.

I'll try put this as simple as possible. In every teacher/trainer/coach/'sifu' and student relationship, it always seems that the student will excel better than their teacher(or whatever). Check out their coach and the athletes. Check out Simon Cowell. Can he sing? :) Olympics just over, check out the coaches and the athletes, isn't there a big difference? :)

The bible said something about this also. When Jesus was on earth, he brought up a few disciples. He said on :

John 14:12 Most assuredly, I say to you, he who believes in Me, the works that I do he will do also; and greater works than these he will do, because I go to My Father.
John 14:13 And whatever you ask in My name, that I will do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son.
John 14:14 If you ask anything in My name, I will do it.

So you see, God is governing the mankind. Not just Christians. He make this world to run in a set of laws, no matter you know Him personally or not. So are we meant to be better than our teacher? Yes of course. You just need to ask. That is just one of the perks of knowing God personally. :)
